FAITH HEALING OR FAITH IN GOD TO HEAL?

THE CASE FOR FAITH.

Some people struggle with the issue of faith.
We hope in faith in unseen witness.
Is it “faith healing” or is our faith in God to heal?
Hopefully the latter.
Is the onus (responsibility) for faith in God’s healing on the supplicant (the sick person) or on the prayer team?
The supplicant may have a perfect faith or no faith at all.
Supplicants may not be able to pray because: 1) they don’t know how; 2) they are too sick or in a coma! 3) they are not “there” in their own faith walk.
Then the prayer team needs to “take on” the faith for the supplicant. We never say to a sick person, “If you had enough faith, get up and walk.”
That is religious abuse! Sadly, I have met supplicants who have been on the receiving end of such abusive theology.
Three examples of the faith of individuals leap from the pages of the Bible for me:
First is the faith of the four friends of the paralytic who had so much faith, they ripped open a roof to get him to Jesus.
Jesus then looked at the lads who did this saying,”By your faith your friend is healed.” Their paralyzed friend got up in
full view of everyone and walked — cured!
Second is the faith of the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. She personally had so much faith, she pushed
through the crowd to touch Jesus’ robe. She was cured!
Third is the faith of the centurion, a Roman soldier in charge of a hundred men. His servant was sick. He asked Jesus
to heal him right there and then. He had the faith to believe that Jesus didn’t have to go see the servant. He just believed.
We know the outcome. His servant was healed that very hour!
Being a former “half-centurion” myself, in charge of fifty Royal Marine recruits as a drill instructor, I can really relate to his testimony.
May I underline that even if the supplicant has no faith, God can do whatever He likes, especially through the faith of the prayer team!
BIBLICAL REINFORCEMENTS:
Mark 2:5-11,12 NIV
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” So he said to the man,
“I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all.
Mark 5:25-29 The Message
A woman who had suffered a condition of hemorrhaging for twelve years — a long succession of physicians had treated her,
and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before — had heard about Jesus.
She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.”
The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with.

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word and my servant shall be healed.”

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very moment.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Testimony from a Washington DC Neurosurgeon.

Testimony 2/10/14

Dr. Frasier Henderson

Dr. Henderson called me this afternoon. He let me know he is a very busy Washington, D.C. neurosurgeon. I met him in Washington at two healing missions which I led. I anointed his hands so his patients might be cured by God. He told me point blank, he doesn’t waste his time on silliness.

Last October at a healing conference, I prayed with him for two of his patients, a teenager and his brother. He brought the teenager who had very serious neurological issues. He told me she had an occlusion (blockage) of both carotid arteries. He bluntly told me that she should have been in the ICU on a ventilator with post-sustained deficiencies, or dead! He told me that he had done research on this and only one dozen recorded incidents in the world have ever happened.
Now, she has very good brain profusion. She is a walking miracle!

There is more. . .” he said, “My brother, (name given) felt extreme heat on his spine for 4 hours after prayer for the metastatic prostate cancer. He had tests two weeks ago. . .there is nothing left of the cancer in his body!
My brother has been totally cured of prostate cancer!”

His parting comment:
“You cannot see this and not have your life changed.”

I need to tell you, he called me. I did not look for this. . .this is what you will see and hear after you pray with people.
We don’t do this to hear the outcome. . . but when God lets you know the outcome, then OUR FAITH IS RAISED !

I am going to share! Six yrs ago (2008) I was destined to a wheelchair. No cure, no operation. I was forced and led to a healing service (which I knew nothing of and didn’t believe in) after I was on the floor for over 15 min with no feeling from waist down. I told God then, its OK, let’s go, you have a different plan for me, its OK. I got feeling back immediately, LOL! Went to this healing service led by Fr. Nigel! To this day, I dance for the Lord, do liturgy and allow the Holy Spirit to flow and prayerfully touch many. There is no more wheelchair. Healing ministry has become my middle name. I praise, humble myself and am overwhelmed the way the Lord works and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! I thank God every day for the blessing, anointing and gift He gave to us in His son, Fr. Nigel. We are all healed daily in many different ways, sometimes in ways we don’t recognize or see. Believe without an inch of unbelief, you only need a mustard seed! Pray for Fr. Nigel daily in the mighty ways the Holy Spirit empowers and works through him. May our Lord always be smiling and glorified!!!! May He ALWAYS anoint and protect Fr. Nigel. Amen & Amen!

Dateline circa 32AD
Today is bad.
Very, very, very bad.
Every day is bad for me.
Days into weeks, months onto years,
Everything is bad for me.
I’ve lost my mind you see…
I scream. I shout. I rant. I rage.
They chain me up when I get wild.
What’s wrong with me?
Who am I?
Where am I?
I cut my body with sharp stones.
I cannot stop.
I don’t know why I cannot stop.
I bleed—- I bleed—–I bleed.
Voices come and scream at me.
I say, “NO! You are too loud!”
But still they scream; they scream at me.
Then somehow a stirring comes . . .
It is not bad; it is good.
This One called Jesus comes by me.
Somehow, He knows just where I am.
He can see me—– me alone,
right where I am.
I see His eyes . . .
I hear His voice . . .
He is enraged, but not at me.
He commands the bad to leave.
And It leaves.
It leaves with the pigs that go running downhill,
galloping, trampling, thundering blindly——
over the cliff, into the sea, the very deep sea.
They disappear, but I am left standing,
standing with Jesus, seeing them gone.
All of them gone. . .
all gone from me!
UNBOUND I AM!
Peace, at last!
I am set free!
I have my mind back!
My very own mind!
What joy comes to me!
Back in the town, men are upset.
“Not in my backyard!” they shout.
My joy they cannot accept.
Thank You, Jesus, for setting me free!
Free to be the man You made me to be!
Healed! Cured! Happy for the first time in years!
What an awesome God! Awesome God!
I didn’t leave with Jesus.
I stayed.
Now I am mayor of my village.
People are still talking about it today.
So be it. Amen.

HEALING THOUGHTS: A Word Study &
Foundation Verse for Healing Trauma
Based on 2 Corinthians 10:5
– A Blueprint for Healing the Past –
2 Corinthians 10:5
New International Version (NIV)
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of
God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
When it comes to healing thoughts and memories, 2 Corinthians 10:5 is the blueprint from
which to work. This verse is the key verse, in fact, the very thesis for my book, After the
Trauma, the Battle Begins, Post Trauma Healing.
All of us have had some kind of issue that has set us on edge, however slightly. Many have
complex memories that haunt and plague the mind. They stop us from living a full life.
They allow the perpetrator to continue the crime in your mind, if you will.
Is it time to get that purp out of your mind? Are you allowing someone from your past to
ruin your present and future?
2 Corinthians 10:5 shows us how to take our thumb and forefinger and pluck that memory
out and lay it at the foot of the cross. Then, and only then, are we ready to start the
process of forgiveness.  So, let’s break this verse into two parts:
PART ONE
I found it fascinating to study what several versions of the Bible have to say on the subject
of taking a memory and placing it with Jesus. Notice the very powerful and descriptive words
that are presented. Collectively, we demolish arguments, every pretension, imaginations,
high things, exalted thought, refuted arguments and theories and reasonings, every proud
and lofty thing, smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers and ideas, every
high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God.
What is the Bible saying to you?
PART TWO
Then we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. We lead every thought
and purpose away, captive to the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),
fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by
Christ. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them to
the Anointed One.
The last part of verse 5 is so powerful, I am going to say it again: we are taking prisoners
of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into the obedience of the Anointed
One. Remember the words of the Lord’s Prayer, “Forgive us out trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us. . .”
Jesus said he would set the captives free. I put it to you —- are you captive to a memory?
(Oh, spell check, don’t you love it! The auto correct writes,”Are you captive to a monkey?”)
Well, there may be some truth to that. The monkey on your back? Jesus has come to
remove the monkey.
I put it to you this way.  Can you even imagine what your life would be like without having
to carry that burden with you everywhere?
So, what is the Bible saying here?
If you find yourself mulling over something that happened today or sixty years ago,
read 2 Corinthians 10:5 and take that thought captive. In other words, give the memory,
the issue, the haunting, to Jesus.
Now, this is important: Combat veterans, emergency workers, first responders, police,
ambulance, fire, Newtown/Sandy Hook School, mall shootings, school shootings, rape
victims, victims of abuse, SRA survivors, witnesses to violence, those left behind after
a suicide, etc., (The list is endless—-) take note of this verse!  Read, learn and inwardly
digest it. This is the key verse to set captive memories free. This is a core verse to help
you after any kind of trauma.
I encourage you to read the following verses from several Bible versions and find the
version that speaks to you in regard to setting those memories free:

barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion

Lead every thought to Jesus.
I truly hope this might help you in the healing of your memories, that have
haunted your past. Be set free, let the purp go, give the memory to God.
Live your life free from the hauntings. Live in the now.
In conclusion, focus on this.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever
is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable —–
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy —– think about such things.

THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS ON CONVALESCENCE.

Thoughts and Reflections on Convalescence

Oh God, it is my desire to read the hearts of people coming for prayer.
After surgery there is a time of convalescing. . . a time to get your body, mind, and spirit back together.
It’s a Humpty-Dumpty time, if you will. It’s a time to reflect, when you can, but also a time to press through the pain, the discomfort, and the side-effects of medications.
Nausea, dizziness, the sweats, and thoroughly nasty feelings of being totally out-of-whack — convalescing is a time to slowly move back-into-whack. You know that each movement will produce pain, anticipate that pain, thank God for the pain, and then, press through the pain. Slowly, day by day everything gets better, but sometimes having a full day of set-backs is all totally normal. Slowly, the days get better. Slowly, there is less pain.
Now, there comes a fulcrum point, a balance point, a moment of revelation when you know that the Lord is at work. This moment is a shift of thought, moving from the flesh, the physical and emotional issues of dis-ease, into the spiritual side of the healing process. Oh, what a feeling!
We move into a new season: a time of reflection, a time to think about God and His mysteries, a time to meet head-on the threshold of physical and emotional pain, and even the threshold of spiritual pain. It is as if we are being introduced to the pain of Good Friday, a minute glance of what the Lord suffered for us.
To be able to “bump” into the wall of the unknown, without fear is a real but tough blessing.
How did You, Jesus, endure it?
What did happen to all those people whom Jesus healed, anyway?
What did they do after they “bumped” into Jesus?
How did they conduct their lives, having had a glimpse of heaven?
How do you bring your heart into a new alignment with God after trauma and sickness?
Would you let God read your heart?
Can you let what is written here sink into your heart?
Lord, I desire to read people’s hearts so they may be healed.
Please read mine.
Be well, do good works, and for the sake of God, love one another.

Desensitized. Healing of Combat Trauma.

DESENSITIZED!
A Reflection for Combat Veterans
I have just read an email from a combat vet who has just read, “After the Trauma, the Battle Begins: Post Trauma Healing.”
His PTSD trigger is the sound of a helicopter, which would signify danger, the signs of trauma, a life threat in a fire-fight, plus casualties.
These noises would catapult him back forty years. . .noises that would shut him down! He lives near a helicopter port!
Now, he has managed to place Jesus between the helicopter, the threat, and himself.
He has been desensitized, set free by Christ!
Thank You, Jesus.
Personally, I have a neighbor who has all sorts of weapons: single-shot, rapid-fire, automatic, and Black-powder.
Every time he would spend a morning or afternoon firing, I would be triggered.
My mind catapulted to combat memories. . . most unpleasant thoughts.
Now, with Jesus standing between me, the noise, and my unseen neighbor, I am completely at peace.
A gift from God!
I have been desensitized!
Thank You, Jesus.
Let’s not limit God, even after all these years.

Seven steps to Godly alignment ©

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Thessalonians 5:16-18

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s     will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

In these tough economic times, we have to really trust in the Lord. Just like a car that needs to have the front wheels aligned, we need to align our lives with God and with each other. If one wheel is pulling one way and the other, another way, we are going to rip the treads off the tires.  Here are seven steps I might suggest for Godly alignment   

1) Spend at least twenty minutes (or more) writing everything you would like to do in your life.  Do not let money, situation or geographical location be a block.  In fact there should be no blocks.  Just write everything you would like to do!  This list can be added to or taken away from and is totally malleable, flexible and pliable. If you are married, spend time with your spouse, writing but not telling each other what is on your list …yet.

2) Spend some time picking out the top five and put them in order of priority.

3) If you are married go over the list together. See where the threads connect; have fun.
4) Now elevate your lists and pray. “Lord, this is what I/we would like to do, what would you like to bless?  I align myself with you, knowing that you have given me the gift of free will. Into your hands I commend my life as “I try less and trust more” in you.  I stand on your word in Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.”
5) Fold your “Life Plan©” and place it in your bible. Leave it with the Lord.
6) Be proactive in your life journey and do not let others hinder you or put you down.  It is important to share your life plan with your spouse. I would not suggest sharing it with others.  Just with your spouse and with God.
7) Do not sit back and expect your top five to land in your lap. Live your life. Christ died that we might live and have life abundant.  LIVE YOUR LIFE to the fullest, be proactive.
